Do you ever have a thought that you should make some money from the photography skills you’ve learned for the past few years? I know…I had the same thought 2 years ago.
Firstly, you need to figure out your most confidently type of photography. There are many ways for new photographers to earn some pocket money such as family photoshoot, small event photoshoot, maternity photoshoot, etc. Thus, it’s beneficial for you to figure out what you’re comfortable with. From there, it’s time for step 2.
Step 2 is to do FREE photoshoot for friends and family to get your portfolio looking professional. You can’t make customers bite into your product if you have no samples to show them how good your products are right? Official website is not necessary but it’s an extra step to show your potential customers that you’re able to deliver great service by your effort.
Step 3 is to find a social media group that has your target audience. For example, if you decide to focus on maternity photoshoot, posting your work in mom’s group on facebook will do you a HUGE favor. Trust me, you phone will be blown up with text messages for inquiries. In case, you are overwhelmed with the amount of appointments, my personal tip is to put everything into your Google Calendar.
